I am a romantic, independent lady. I'm interested in the 1940s. I am looking for that special someone to share my life with. I am honest and happy go lucky and believe in the moon and the stars. I believe that there is somebody out there for everyone and that my soulmate does exist. Where to start - what to say? I am a complete novice to online dating and don't do social media at all. My photo may look a bit fierce, that look of deep concentration is me trying not to cut my own head off in the selfie. I am a bit of a movie buff, something I inherited from my Dad. I love vintage Hollywood films, the glamour of the stars and the styles of the time. My favourite films are: Millions Like Us, Waterloo Road, Brief Encounter, I wake up Screaming (Hot Spot), Casablanca, Arsenic and Old Lace, Piccadilly, Waterloo Bridge, D Day -6th June, Red Dust, Dinner at Eight, Laura, The Big Sleep...... I could go on and on. My favourite film stars are Betty Grable, Jean Harlow, Bogart, Gable, Garbo, Bette Davis, Katharine Hephburn, Cary Grant and so on. With me it is not so much the story as the style of the movie. In the same way I love watching Poirot and Foyles War just for the accuracy of the styles of the time. I am an arty type I guess. Not sporty at all. If I had a time machine I would go back to London during World War II. I would love to experience the spirit of the Blitz and I do firmly believe this was our finest hour. My heroes are Winston Churchill and the Few and my Dad (who is no longer with us unfortunately). ..

, I tend to read non-fiction books either biographies or books about wartime Britain and the 1940s. My favourite fiction is Wuthering Heights. I also like Night Watch by Sarah Waters.

Favourite Films:

The Godfather, Gone with the Wind, Maltese Falcon, Some Like It Hot, I love vintage Hollywood movies. I love the old stars and the glamour of the clothes. I sometimes go to the National Film Theatre to watch old silent movies.

Favourite Dishes:

Fish and Chips, Handmade Pizza, Lobster Thermidor, Mediterranean vegetables and Ricotta wrapped in Filo, Spaghetti alle Vongole, I love Italian food (though I don't eat meat). I like Chinese food. I will eat most kinds of food but am not keen on sushi and I don't go out to eat salad (not yummy enough).

Ideal Holiday:

I would love to go to Italy especially Venice or Rome. I love sight seeing and would love to visit most European capitals.

Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, an artist, a dancer, If I came back as an animal it would be a panda. Everybody loves pandas don't they.
